The Backstory

My Online Lawyer® is 100% owned by me, a female, disabled veteran (Go Army!), but the overall concept is the legal and technological brainchild of both myself (the attorney) and my husband (the techie). Just as an aside, my husband can’t be an owner, because he is not an attorney and only attorneys may own Colorado legal services companies.

I am blessed to have a very robust legal practice, and I specialize in business law, intellectual property law and succession planning (trusts and estates). I was not looking to start another legal services business. But, over the years of working with clients, it became glaringly obvious that there is a big need for access to quality legal work at affordable, fixed pricing. We call this need the Legal Gap.

And, by quality legal work, I mean attorney oversight and/or review. Attorney involvement, whether it is review or direct interaction, is the difference between simply buying an online form (you get what you pay for) or obtaining legal services. And, affordable, fixed pricing, does not mean the cheapest option (that would be the online form companies), I mean affordable in relation to hiring a personal attorney, and fixed, as in there are no hidden costs.

So, it was out of a desire to bridge the Legal Gap that My Online Lawyer® was conceived and born. And, not only did we want to bridge the Legal Gap, we also wanted to make it painless, do I dare say, fun? We are grateful that you chose My Online Lawyer® for your legal needs. All of our attorneys are real live human beings (yes, attorneys are human too). They all have law degrees from accredited legal institutions. They are all licensed and in good standing in their respective states. They all have expertise in the practice area for which they provide legal review.
